JBDA

The Certification System of the Japanese Board of Dental Anesthesiologist (JBDA) was launched in 1977. There are 1,323 dental anesthesiologists certified by the JBDA in Japan (as of August 2018). To be certified by the JBDA, a dental anesthesiologist must pass its test consisting of selection by presented documents, and written and oral examinations. The test is carried out every year and the final results are announced in August. The JBDA certification is valid for a period of five (5) years, after which it must be applied for renewal. From this year (2010) on, new applicants for certification are required to have a record of assistance at AHA-BLS instructor courses, and those for renewal need to meet this requirement from 2011 on.
