Greeting for the 29th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for the Temporomandibular Joint at Hakone, Japan
It is my great pleasure to announce the 29th Annual Meeting of Japanese Society for the Temporomandibular Joint will be held at Fujiya Hotel, Hakone, Japan in July 17th and 18th. The meeting has been annually held in summer, which is the hottest season in Japan. I therefore have chosen cool mountainside resort area for the meeting. Hakone is famous for its beautiful mountain resort with many hot springs. The volcanic activities at Owaku-dani area have now been calming down, and you can enjoy nice cool weather and hot springs of Hakone area.
Main theme of this meeting is set as “ Change the treatment strategy of TMD Aming harmony of TMD clinical research and science“. Our society has changed diagnostic criteria of temporpomandibular disorders (TMD) establishing consistency with diagnostic criteria/temporomandibular disorders (DC/TMD) in 2013. During this meeting, we are preparing Hands-on course for helping diagnose muscle pain of TMD according to DC/TMD. We also have symposium and lectures focusing on the new criteria. The program also includes another symposium for TMJ luxation and educational lecture for meta-analysis of clinical research.
Every domestic and foreign attendees visiting Hakone are welcome and hope to have enjoyable communications at the meeting. Dr. Per Alstergren, who is one of the core members of International DC/TMD Consortium, is nominated as a foreign invited speaker. All international attendees are welcome to present their papers in English. Registrations, Abstract submission, and Application forms will be uploaded on the home page soon. Executive members will gather together at Hakone in this period and discuss the future strategies of TMJ research.
