An Myanmar Dentist

ABSTRACT：

Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, was well known by the Japanese people because of the classic movie “Biruma no Tategoto” which was released at 1956. The country has gone through many hardships and struggles thereby allowing his people to face many experiences. According to the history, the country has been reigned by three kingdoms first, second and third in 11 AD, 1500 and 17th AD respectively. However the whole country was invaded by British army in 1885 after two great battles within sixty years. Even after the Independence gained from British Colony in 1948 it has encountered many instability. Since then the government has passed through several transformations in 1962, 1974, 1988 and 2010 eventually heading towards peaceful democratic country. A young Myanmar dentist has evolved through vicissitudes of life as a professional. After facing many social and political crisis, a self nurtured student passed the final B.D.S. examination with flying colors and broke the university record and kept the title for forty years. Being a dentist for more than three decades is somewhat a gift by having good chance to treat, teach and research. For the people of a developing country the dental care has been focused to meet the urgent necessary needs. More importantly for the comfort of patients some modifications of dental treatments have been developed for example, modified acrylic dentures, natural teeth dentures, porcelain bridge dentures, PQE treatment for elderly etc.. Some rules of thumb approaches would be requested for your exemption.

『摂食・嚥下障害の評価と訓練の実際』

戸原　玄　准教授（高齢者歯科学分野）

要旨：

超高齢社会の到来を迎えて久しい日本では、介護、認知症、誤嚥性肺炎、胃瘻などの言葉を報道で聞かない日はないように思われる。歯科においても、高齢者の“食べること”をどれくらい真剣に考えているのかが今問われているといえるだろう。特に在宅への歯科訪問診療をどこまで掘り下げるのかが重要で、掘り下げる方向が“歯”の行く末ではなく要介護高齢者、もしくは超高齢社会の行く末を考えることでなければならない。今回は訪問診療での現状や、胃瘻に関する調査などから、今後の歯科臨床や教育のありかたなどについて考えてみたい。

『部分床義歯の臨床を通して見える歯科補綴学の未来』

要旨：

部分床義歯の臨床はそれだけで成立するものではなく，あらゆる歯科領域と密接に関係・協調して行われる．臨床医学としての部分床義歯学は，組織への侵襲の軽減，機能と審美性の回復，破損への対応を中心的な課題とし，材料と技術の進歩により進展した．インプラントの普及に伴い，歯の欠損パターンや内科疾患の有無に応じた診断も不可欠となっている．近年はさらに，デジタル技術の治療への応用，審美性や低侵襲性を目指した材料開発が注目されている．部分床義歯は可撤性であることから，緊急性の高い症例や治療の進行に伴う変化への対応，患者さんの健康や年齢，社会背景に応じた包括的なアプローチが求められる．このため，歯科医学で課題とされている多様な臨床上の問題に向き合うことも稀ではない．本講演ではそれらの課題と今後期待される進展について述べる．
